UyghurEdit++

A free text editor for writing Uyghur, with spell checking, script conversion and OCR (reading text in images).

Features

  • Spell checking: misspelled words stay underlined in red.
  • Script conversion between Arabic, Latin and Cyrillic script.
  • OCR: turns text in images into editable text. It reads Uyghur, English, Chinese and Turkish, including images that mix scripts.
  • Pasting while the clipboard holds an image starts OCR automatically.
  • The spelling dictionary was built by inflecting the root words of the 2009 orthographic dictionary "Hazirqi Zaman Uyghur Edebiy Tilining Imla Lughiti" and holds about 441,000 words.
  • Latin-script input mode (switch with Ctrl+K).
  • Make an HTML file from the document you are editing.

  • The Uyghur model for Tesseract was retrained, and recognition is much more accurate.
  • Documents can now be saved in Word format (.docx) (see the "Qorallar" menu).
  • Uyghur Word documents (.docx) can now be converted to another script (Arabic, Latin or Cyrillic) while keeping their original page layout (see the "Qorallar" menu).
